Kavli NDI

branding + website

Established in 2015, the Kavli Neuroscience Discovery Institute at Johns Hopkins University is one of twenty prestigious Kavli institutes existing on the campuses of major universities worldwide. Its mission is to advance neuroscience discovery by uniting neuroscience, engineering and computational data science to understand the structure and function of the brain.
The logo uses Penrose structures that create endlessly complex tiling shapes. Resembling both neural networks and engineering cogs, they represent the fields of neuroscience and engineering coming together to create a growing understanding of big data, in the form of a puzzle that can, and will, be solved.
